The Farmhouse is located in Beckhampton, Wiltshire, which is within the World Heritage Area of Averbury Henge which is an AONB. The existing main house has coursed rubble stone and red brick walls with slated roofs. The adjoining barn is single storey with principallyrubble stone walls facing the garden, with modern concrete blocks at the front.

The main Farmhouse is listed in 1990 and is Grade II (List Entry Number: 1192954) and is described thus: Farmhouse. C18. Diaper brick on sarsen sills, some chalkstone at rear. Slate roof. Five bays, the right end bay an addition or rebuild. Entrances in second and fourth bays, four and 6-panel doors and further blocked door to right of fourth bay. Tripartite timber windows, but 20-pane sash over right door. Wide boxed eaves and roof hipped.

The applicant would like to carry out works to provide additional living space to the rear of the house. As well as provide additional accommodation within the existing single storey barn for the use as a guest house and changing facilities for the swimming pool.
