Mitchell Eley Gould have been appointed to develop proposals for a new live/work terrace that provides  employment and housing opportunities for the community of Frome.  A landscaped yard provides a natural extension to the rear of the existing warehouse unit and creates a shared space for this new community.

The proposed design responds in a sympathetic yet industrial manner to the built context, providing a contemporary architecture fit for this location. A sustainability strategy that includes the redevelopment of a brownfield site, alongside a fabric first approach with PV’s located on the south facing roof pitch would deliver a flexible vision for modern living.  Set amongst a diverse planting, landscape, and drainage strategy the yard enables the new building to nestle into the existing environment, creating a beneficial outdoor place for the community to congregate.
